Community Support Practitioner (CDSP)
Direct Support Worker

Looking for applicants for a 24-Hour Residential Program in Mayerthorpe, AB. This is a Temporary position that would consist of six 24-hour shifts in a four-week rotation. The potential for the position to be permanent.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Assist persons with disabilities to pursue and fulfill their goals, objectives, and aspirations.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of healthy family/natural community connections
  • Facilitate skill development and supports to assist individuals in living independently within their home and the community
  • Commitment to ongoing training and skill development within the context of the position

DESIRED SKILLS:

Strong communication skills (both written and oral), interpersonal and organizational skills. Confidence in decision-making works well independently with minimal supervision and is a positive team player. Effective with time management, prioritizing tasks, self-starter, and highly motivated. Efficient in technical skills to operate basic computer programs/systems.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:

Certificate / Diploma in Post-Secondary Training in Disability/Human Service Studies (or) related training/studies (ie: Nursing, Social Work, Community Service Worker); A minimum of one year experience working with individuals with disabilities.
